# Baccarat Game Rules

The objective of Baccarat is to predict that either the player or the dealer will win with a hand closest to 9, or that the player and the dealer will tie with the same hand.

All face value cards count as 0 and aces count as 1. All the other cards carry the value of the card. If the cards in a hand add up to more than 10 then you subtract 10 and this gives you the Baccarat total.

**For Example
**9 and 4 = 13. Subtracting 10 gives you a Baccarat point value of 3.

The highest total you can score in Baccarat is 9 called a natural. If 8 or 9 are dealt to either player or banker then the game ends and the winner is paid accordingly.

The player and the banker are dealt 2 cards each and a third card may be dealt to either the player or the dealer depending on what score they get. Unlike Blackjack when each player receives cards, Baccarat is different in that there are only 2 hands dealt and each player is betting on only 2 hands; either the players hand to win, or the dealers, or a tie. No more than 3 cards are dealt to either the player or dealer in Baccarat.

## Players 3 Card point values

- If the player scores either 0-1-2-3-4 or 5 they qualify for a third card.

- If the player scores either 6 or 7, that stands.

- If the player scored 8 or 9 then that’s a
**natural**and no further cards can be drawn.

## Bankers 3 card point values

- If the banker scores 0-1 or 2, a third card is always drawn.

- If the banker has 3 points then he only draws a third card if the players third card is either 0-1-2-3-4-5-6-7 or 9. If the player’s third card is an 8 the banker cannot draw a card.

- If the banker has 4 points then he only draws a card if the player’s third card is either 2-3-4-5-6 or 7. If the player’s third card is either 0-1-8 or 9 then the banker cannot draw a card.

- If the banker has 5 points then he can only draws if the player’s third card is 4-5-6 or 7. If the player’s third card is either 0-1-2-3-4-5-8 or 9 then the banker cannot draw a card.

- If the banker has 6 points then he can only draw a card if the player’s third card is 6 or 7. If the player’s third card is either 0-1-2-3-4-5-8 or 9 then the banker cannot draw a card.
