How to Play Roulette

Roulette offers the best odds in any casino game and is the most enjoyable. It is also the most expensive but by far the most profitable.

Roulette consists of many bets to choose from all paying different odds depending on how many numbers are bet.

Firstly, Roulette has 37 numbers, 1 to 36 and zero around a wheel. There are 18 black and 18 red numbers that are placed after each other. Numbers are not in order but placed randomly, obviously there are 18 even and 18 odd numbers also placed one after each other around the wheel i.e. red odd, black even, red odd, black even.

Please note: Never is a colour placed next to each other and neither is an odd or even on the wheel.

For example: A £5 bet wins £10 plus the bet back.

Roulette Column Bets

Like Dozen Bets, Column Bets have 12 numbers each. Column Bets in Roulette work in the same way but horizontal on the layout.

1st column (1, 4, 7, 10, 13, 16, 19, 22, 25, 28, 31, 34)
2nd column (2, 5, 8, 11, 14, 17, 20, 23, 26, 29, 32, 35)
3rd column (3, 6, 9, 12, 15, 18, 21, 24, 27, 30, 33, 36)

There are 12 chances of winning and 24 chances of losing so the bet pays 2 to 1.
For example: A £5 bet wins £10 plus the bet back.

For example: A £5 bet wins £85 plus the bet back.

Roulette Street

For example: A £5 bet wins £30 and the bet back.

Roulette Odds

Roulette odds are worked out as follows: divide the chances of losing by the chances of winning.
For example: A six-line bet. (30 chances of losing by 6 chances of winning. 30 divided by 6 = 5

The Roulette Zero

This number still has payout odds of 35 to 1 but is on the wheel to favour the casino. As there are 36 numbers the player could buy in for 36 chips and place one on every number, doing this the player would win all their money back and start off with the same amount every time they bet because the odd are 35-1 plus your bet back. The online casino has the zero to stop this because the extra number isn’t counted in the odds. Zero is still a good bet all the same and with the same odds. In American Roulette, the double zero applies, which favours the online casino even further.

Table Maximum in Roulette

The table maximum in Roulette is applied to favour the casino. If maxima were not in place then the player could just double their bet until they win all their money back, which defeats the object of having a casino really. Online casinos have different maximums for different gamblers. Usually £1 minimum up to £100 maximum. High rollers £5 minimum up to £500 maximum depending on which bet you choose.

The player can place as many chips as they like on the Roulette bets stated above as long as they are inside the maximum amount they can also place multiple bets around the layout, even combining certain numbers. For example, £5 on number 29 (straight up) £5 on number 28 (straight up) and £5 on 28/29 split. If either 28 or 29 came in the player would win 52 £5 chips, which converts to £260 plus your money back. Not a bad bet for £15!
